Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson is the daughter of British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby (born in Paris) and Chris Watson (born in Paris). When she moved to Oxfordshire at the age of five, Emma enrolled at the Dragon School. Emma's ambition was to become an actor. At the age of 6she was enrolled into the Oxford Stagecoach Theatre Arts branch and took lessons for acting, singing as well as dancing. Emma's first screen appearance came with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone's debut in 2001. It was the highest-grossing film of 2001 it set new records for its debut day opening and the opening weekend's earnings. The film received praise from experts, and also by the performances of its three new starlets. The well-known British publication The Daily Telegraph called her performance as admirable. Emma received the Young Artist Award as the leading young actress in a Film. Film. Emma was recognized five times in recognition of her performance in the movie.
