Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig on 21 September 1983) is an American actress best well-known for her role in the roles of Shannon Rutherford on the ABC television series Lost and Kim Mills in the Taken trilogy. Born in Worthington Ohio, she dropped out of high school and moved into Los Angeles with her mother when her parents separated. Her first role came to her in the film, Rachel's Room's title character, in 2001, despite having a difficult time with finances. She went on to earn a Young Artist Award nomination in 2002 with her portrayal of 15-year-old murder victim Martha Moxley in the television movie Murder set in Greenwich. Grace Rutherford played Shannon Rutherford for Lost's first two seasons of 2004 and she shared a Screen Actors Guild Award (with the rest of the cast) with her. Grace decided to concentrate on film following her role as Tom Welling's character, The Fog, in 2005. She starred as Kim Mills opposite Liam Neeson (both in Taken the year 2008) on Suburban Girl and The Jane Austen Book Club. Taken 2 (2012), Taken 3 2014 and Taken 4 (2014) were her reprises of role. Grace was back on the Lost series for the last two episodes as Shannon. She also was a guest in the sixth series of Californication. She plays Faith who is both the star-gazer and a socialite. Being part of the Gyllenhaal Family, she is the daughter and elder sister to the actor Jake Gyllenhaal. In her teens She began working on small roles with her father. She was also in Donnie Darko alongside her twin brother. Her next appearance was in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind in 2002, and Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal was nominated to win a Golden Globe Award in both the romantic comedy Sherrybaby (2005) and the romance comedy Secretary (2002). The two films received acclaim from critics. She appeared in numerous films that were commercially successful, including World Trade Center. However it was her performance as Rachel Dawes that brought her more attention with The Dark Knight (2008). In the wake of her performance that was a hit as an unmarried mother in Crazy Heart (2009), she received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. In the following years, she starred in comedies and dramas: Nanny McPhee & the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011 and Won't Back Down 2012. Apart from her character as a Secret Service agent, she has also appeared as a character in White House Down (2013) as well as Frank (2014). One of her most recent roles include the protagonist of the film The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). Gyllenhaal began her professional career as a screenwriter, director and writer in the year 2021. she directed and wrote her psychological horror film The Lost Daughter. The film won Best Screenplay at The Venice International Film Festival, and was later nominated by The Academy Award. Academy Award.
